Unit Objectives: Students Will Be Able To (SWBAT):
SWBAT record at least 15 items into the "L" column of a KWL chart for Ancient India by the end of the unit.
SWBAT actively read and interact with visual, verbal, written and electronic resources/data to interpret data in order to demonstrate their comprehension skills and increase their knowledge about Ancient India, the Indus River Valley and the ancient Harappan and Aryan civilizations.
SWBAT increase their knowledge of the basic geographic attributes and challenges of Ancient India by completing the provided map assignment. SWBAT explore the Indian Caste System from the ancient origins to the modern day implications, then they will reflect, discuss, and express how they feel about it using evidence to support their position. SWBAT use provided resources on Hinduism and Buddhism to explore the similarities and differences. SWBAT begin to understand the similarities and differences between major religious groups by completing a stations activity on Major World Religions. SWBAT demonstrate a knowledge about the rise/fall and decisions facing ancient civilizations by participating in an Ancient Civilizations simulation. |
