Unit Objectives: Students Will Be Able To (SWBAT):
SWBAT actively read and interact with written and electronic resources to interpret data in order to demonstrate their comprehension skills and increase their knowledge about Ancient Rome.
SWBAT discover how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius affected Pompeii and how the eruption has provided the world with knowledge of Roman civilization.
SWBAT practice working collaboratively and cooperatively with their peers.
SWBAT construct reflective written work utilizing evidence to demonstrate knowledge.
SWBAT evaluate what they know or think they know about Cleopatra and then add to their knowledge from a variety of resources in order to construct a brief description/overview of her life for other middle school students (audience).
SWBAT demonstrate knowledge of the bodies of water and major physical features of the Mediterranean region by passing a map test with at least 75% accuracy.
SWBAT practice listening skills.
