Ancient India Map Assignment
In order to learn more about the geography of India, we will complete this map assignment. Their geography, as in other civilizations we have explored, has significant impact on their civilization.

Caste Activity
The caste system, a form of social organization, was introduced by the Aryans and is a complex social system that is a feature of Hinduism and also greatly impacts the society in modern India. Through various resources, we will explore more about the caste system and it's effects on the people of India.

India Choice Assignment
Students will have the option to complete one of the following choices:
Option 1: Buddhism and Hinduism Venn Diagram Stations
Using provided station materials, students will compare/contrast Buddhism and Hinduism Gods/Goddesses, Goal of the Religions, Birth of the Religions, and Fun Facts.

Option 2: Mauryan Empire Reading Assignment
Working alone, with a partner, or in a small group (subject to approval) students will actively read a provided resource from World History for Us All and complete the provided discussion and written prompts to learn more about the Mauryan Empire.

Option 3: Emperors Speak for Themselves
Working alone, with a partner, or in a small group (subject to approval) students will actively read a provided resource from World History for Us All and complete the provided discussion and written prompts to learn more about the similarities and differences between Cyrus the Great of Persia and Ashoka of the Mauryan Empire in India.
Option 4: Ganges River Uses and Pollution |
Students will conduct a "gallery walk" of images showing various uses of the Ganges River. They will use the images and the background reading to complete the assignment.
